So sig just came our with the really neat take down lever. Used to rest your left hand thumb on.

Already got one for my 320x5 looks and feels good.

PROBLEM is the I bought 3 and they come with a new pin that goes through the trigger assembly. It's sticks out the opposite side lime 1/8 of an inch and has a half moon slot like a clevis pin should be there.

The notch depth is the same but wider.

Anyone know if we should use this or not.

You don't know if you should (or are?) going to use it and you already bought THREE???

If it works for you, ok...I guess....

I won't be buying or using one, as I don't shoot with my left hand thumb anywhere it could reach the "shelf".

Well, I trust sig and take my discounts when I can. Yes they work, yes I can use then as a thumb wrest as I have taught over 3,000 students already. Have had on on my 320x5. Had a aftermarket device on my 226 pistols.

I haven't seen one for a P226. I'm guessing the pin is to act as a counter clockwise rotation stop for the gas pedal. As I'm sure you are very familiar, the takedown levers are substantially different between the two.

However, I'd contact SIG for much better educated answer.

More IMPORTANT Info on Take Down lever

Duh, I missed the part where that pin is used to hold the take down lever from being pushed down if your thumb pushes to hard.
to take down push the pin towards the other side. BUT make sure the slotted side is opposite the take down lever when installed.

I can't believe I missed that, so my 226, 226 Legion, P220 work as expected.
However the P229 will have to use the original pin .
My P320 take down is toward the front more no pin, different design. Has it's own (new) thumb rest take down lever.
