SIG P226 - Not working

I have a DA/SA P226 that stop working last time at the range. In double action mode - the trigger cocks and releases the hammer, BUT the hammer does not fall forward enough to hit the firing pin.

When in single action mode - the trigger bar does not engage the sear (hammer does not fall) and the trigger bar moves freely.

I took the gun apart to see if any parts were broken or missing, but everything "seems" to be OK.

What could the problem be?

There is a spring under the grip panel that has probably gotten out of place.

i figure it out. It was a broken internal saftey lever.

hmmmm...

Just curious, how many rounds do you think you have through the gun? My P226 in 9mm is probably my favorite handgun, but my Hk's have gotten the most range time over the past several months.

My P226 has about 8,000 rounds through it and I'm thinking maybe it's time to pick up a parts kits from Top Gun Supply.

One of the guys at the range I go to has 26,000 rnds through his p226 without replacing a part.

He's a sig armorer so he'd know when its time.
