Sig 228 night sights need to be replaced?

I picked up a used Sig 228 with night sights about 3yrs ago and I just pulled it out of the safe and noticed it's at about 10% of what it should be. Sometime in the last few months it died out.

Can these be re-done or do they get trashed?

Buy a new set and sell the old set on EBay while you still can. I sold the last two sets I swapped out for around $35. A new set of Mepro's will run you around $70, and a little more if you dont have the tool to do it yourself.

This makes me think they work like the old watches and dont glow on their own.

If you do a web search, you can usually find real night sights for around $70. I got mine at Arizona Gun Runners for $68.

If you dont have one, MGW makes a sight tool that appears to be the same one SIG sells for less than half the price, $80 vs $250. Its well made and works great and can also be used to adjust your sights. It works on most of the SIG's. If you have a couple of guns or buy used, its well worth the money.

I think it's over but Sig had an awesome deal on new night sights and all new springs installed. I think it was like $100.
