Shotguns

I recently got back into loading shotgun shells and ran out of Green Dot. I used to load heavily back in high school and college and that was what I used way back then for 20 gauge. I had some Unique on the shelf and found some loads for using that with the primers and wads that I had. Has anyone used Unique for 20 gauge and does it work alright?

Unique works well in 20 depending on your load. I also use Universal, 20/28, among others. Both Alliant and Hodgdon has online data so you can get the proper recipe

Unique is my "go to" powder for the 20 gauge. It produces the lowest pressure for velocity load available. 15.3 grains under a WW white wad and 7/8 oz. works very well in my skeet gun.

Unique, Green Dot, Hodgdon Universal are all still very popular for the 20ga....

with the trend now, toward 3/4 oz of shot in a 20ga..../ so it kind of depends on what you want to do with your loads / what powders, wads, etc that you have or can get....
