Shorties?

Have anything with a 20" or shorter barrel? The traditional length for a full stock is 20 but some are less and some are more.

I think this is 18".

I think this is also an 18.

This has a 16" barrel and combined with the very short action makes a ridiculously compact rifle.

The Trapper has a 16" barrel and handles well.

short

SaxonPig that is a very nice YZ Mini Mauser and the first I have ever heard or seen of a Mini Mauser with what I'm assuming is a factory Mannlicher style stock. Curious as to what vintage that rifle may be.......recent or older?

As far as my stable, I've got a Mini Mauser as well, but 20" I'm near certain. My Marlin 1894/.357 t may run 16", and I believe two older tube feed Ruger .44 carbine run 18". I think the budget AK I have runs 16", what ever stock is on those, and a Mini30 runs 18" or whatever stock is for that family.

Thanks Mr.Hill.
I made the stock from a plane hard piece of French Walnut. It's inspired by an old Mauser I saw in a picture that was made in Suhl Germany back in the early 20s.
This is the one I killed my elk and deer with this year.

Yes. My favorite rifle, a Stevens 200 in .223, now wears an 18" barrel, cut down from the 22" it came with. Easier handling, that's all.

I have a 110 FP, with the 24" bull barrel, that I have been contemplating reducing to 20" for some time. I hate long barrels, especially heavy ones, which make the rifle nose heavy.

4_if they count as a shortys.

If 20" counts, then there's the Hog Rifle/.308, an older Savage Scout, and a Mark Mannlicher, unfortunately, in '06.

Remington model 600/660 series rifles, all 20" or less
.222Rem
.243 Win (Mohawk)
6mm Rem
.308 Win (my Adirondack deer rifle)
.350 Rem Mag (model 660)

Also Marlin 1894 in .357 Mag.

Also Ruger No.3s, which while they have 22" barrels have shorter overall lengths than many 20" barrel rifles.

Remington Stainless classic in 30.06 with barrel shortened to 18" & a muzzle brake. Remington Mohawk in .243 barrel is 18" I believe.

Original Remington Model 7 in .260 with an 18.5" bbl is my favorite tree-stand gun. Light and compact but still accurate out further than my personal abilities.

Marlin 336 custom, .30-30, 16.25" (chopped from 20.5" and tested, but metal and wood still in work).

Dumoulin Mauser, .270 Win, 19" (in work).

--I'm forgetting one. I even looked through the safes and still can't figure it out, but there's something at 18".
Edit: I think it's the .307 Winchester project rifle that I was thinking of: a Marlin 336 in .30-30 that's getting a .30-30 barrel that has been reamed to .307 Win. Currently 20" (both barrels), but the .307 specimen is likely to get chopped to 18".

Almost all of my rimfire rifles.

The .444 Marlin Handi-Rifle. While a 22" barrel, like the Ruger #1s and #3s mentioned, the overall length is shorter than the 19" Marlin below and not much longer than the 16.25" 336 above.

And, the 19" Marlin 336 converted to a 444:
(Scope temporary and no longer there. Butt plate unfinished.)

(Which, unfortunately, has popped up recently in too many threads. I'm starting to think people will interpret it as attempts to brag. I love the rifle, but that is not my intention.)
