Short Hornady pistol brass

Why does it seem that anytime I come across Hornady pistol brass, that it's much shorter than all the rest? I shoot mixed brass in my revolvers, and have found this to be the case, that Hornady brass is significantly shorter in both .357 and .44 magnum. Any clue?

Possibly from Hornady's Flex-Tip factory ammo. Hornady says trim .357 mag brass to 1.240" for their 140 FTX bullet and 1.255" for their 255 grain FTX in 44 magnum brass.

I separate cases by headstamp for consistent case neck tension.
I trim 357 mag brass to 1.280" and 44 mag to 1.275" for consistent crimps.
Like rg1 said, the brass may have been trimmed to load the FTX bullet.
