Shooting rubber bullets

I hope this the right forum for this Q.

I have been considering loading up and shooting 38 spcl/357mag rubber or plastic bullets. Ive looked at some products at Midway and am intrigued. Is it better to use my spent brass or buy the plastic cases? Also, is the plastic bullets superior to the rubber bullets, or the other way around? I want to re-use the bullets as much as possible.

This sounds like a very good way my wife and I can get more practice without leaving the house.

I used the Speer plastic bullets and cases years ago.
1. They shoot VERY high due to their light weight.
2. The cases were easy to deprime, use a nail, reprime with thumb pressure.
3. My bullet trap was a cardboard box with a newspaper over a dowel, another on the bottom to catch the bullets.

I used to shoot wax bullets. Actually, they shot LOW, because there was no recoil to raise the barrel as the bullet was leaving. I have also shot rubber bullets, which are a lot cleaner, but were not as accurate. I have never shot the Speer plastic bullets with the special cases.

If you use the Speer bullets, I think you will need their plastic cases. With the others, you will need to drill out the flash holes to larger diameter to prevent the primers from backing out of their pockets and tying-up the revolver cylinder. That ruins the case for loading with powder, later.

The plastic cases will be easier but eventually will wear out the primer pocket.

The brass cases need the primer holes drilled out to prevent primer protrusion tying up a revolver, will need tools to de/re prime, but will last indefinitely.

Primers are very dry & dirty so for top accuracy & function scrub & wipe case & barrels .

In 6 shot revolvers I usually dry scrubbed the cyl/barrls every other cyl full to keep it all going. also the cleaner ya keep the bore the longer ya bullets will last .

I believe in the end I was scrubbin then moppin the bores with Eds Red.
Then the mrs. kinda lost intrest .

Skizzums, I saw them at Midway site. They are in the bullet section. It is starting to sound like they might be more trouble than they are worth. I still have some research to do before I buy them.
