shooting old guns

Is it safe and prudent to shoot 70 + year old guns that are mechanically ok and have no collectability using modern ammo. Say 100 rounds a month ?

A Colt O.P. in good shape with good lock up etc . Looks like it was made in the 1930's.

I shoot 100 year old Mausers, 1911's, Krag-Jorgensen's a trapdoor springfield, '03 Springfields, and many others...

Guns were MADE to be shot...

as for "modern ammo" it depends on the gun and the caliber...

in my 06's, I shoot modern stuff... in my trapdoor springfield, I shoot homegrown black powder rounds, it all depends...
