Hope this is not a problem, but a recent closed thread had some troubling, and unsettled info.
1. It as ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL to send live ammunition via the US Mail, it can be sent via UPS or Fedex Ground shipment.
2. In most cases, ammunition can only be sent via UPS or Fedex Hubs, not their various franchise locations.
3. Very soon, in a month or so, the ORM-D classification will disappear and a new black and white sticker will be required on ammo shipments, with no mention on the package that it contains ammo.
4. There is no UPS requirement for an "Adult Signature" on ammo shipments, some counter people just make that up.
FYI, as a cartridge collector I send and receive lots of packages containing small-arms ammo. I've done lots of research on this topic, and spent lots of time with both ignorant and informed UPS employees and management.
