shipping a gun to California?

I am told that I cannot sell a used S&W revolver to someone in California because the exact model is not listed as passing the safety testing. My gun is a 617-2. The 617-6 is okay. Does this law prevent me from selling to a California resident via an FFL using the usual legal means in other states? If so, it gives me yet another good reason never to move there.

Here's the law:

Thanks.

Corresct - legally, you can ship it to a CA FFL, but they can only sell it to LEO/Mil. or resell it to someone out of state.

From a practical standpoint, you could accept payment and then ship to the FFL - that is legal for YOU.

The FFL may sell it to the person, but then if there is any law breaking, it is THEM.

This does happen, I dont think you are at risk, but the CA resident is.

You could MOVE here and bring the gun in ok - as long as you register it. At that point, you could do a person to person to anyone in CA with no problem (thru an FFL).

Under no circumstances should you move here.
