Setting up a scope at longer ranges

Looking for confirmation if I am thinking about this correctly.

My AR is zeroed at 200yds and I'll be using 69gr SMK bullets. Sierra says I should have about 80" of drop at 600 yards for a 200 yd zero. 1 MOA at 600 yards is about 6" so 80"/6"=13.3 MOA. If my scope has 1/4 MOA adjustments, then I would think about 53 clicks up should get me on paper.

Is that the right way to guestimate bullet drop over long ranges?

I don't shoot ARs with scopes, but this will give you an ideal.

I shoot a White Oak Upper 1:7 Service Rifle, zeroed for 200 yards.

I use 77 SMKs at 200 & 300 yards and 80 Gn SMKs at 600 & 1000.

To get to 600 from 200 I use 28 half Min Clicks or 14 MOA.

To get to 1000, I use my 600 yard zero and turn the front sight 4 full revolutions.

I don't shoot your 69 grn bullets, but I would think 14-16 moa would get you on paper. At 1/4 MOA that would be 56-64 clicks.
