Seating Stems

I have a question I just started thinking about. My Die set came with two seating stems. A hollowed out one, and a flat one.. I assume the hollow one is for RN, and the flat stem is for HP/FN type bullet shapes. Is this correct? Somehow different? I can't seem to find anything that explains which seating is for when.

You're correct. Just switch them out to best match the bullet's nose profile.
Don't forget the re-set the seating depth when you change.
