I read the post about scopes down the board a little bit, and have a question, I have a very old .22 H&R bolt rifle, and I was thinking of putting a scope on it, This rifle was a gift found in a relatives garage, and i dont want to pay 200-1100 dollars to put a scope on it, I was thinking of a simmons dearfield 3-9x30 for around $40.00, Im not looking to compeat Im not looking to snipe a man at 900 yards, I just want a score on it to shoot bottles and rabits out to about 300 y

Simmons makes a one inch scope for .22 rimfire rifles that sells for around $50 dollars. I thing the rings are included. Don't use a regular scope on your .22 rimfire because the paralax is usually set around 150 yards. .22 scopes have the paralax set at around 50 yards. This would probably be the best scope around for the money you want to spend and the purpose you will be using it for.
