Scope Adjustment Question

If a scope's elevation/windage click adjustment is 1/4" at 100 yds, what is it at 50 yds?

Half (1/8") or double (1/2") ??

And so while four clicks moves the point of impact one inch at 100 yards, it takes eight clicks to get one inch at 50 yards.
