Recently, I acquired a Savage 99 take down in 250-3000. The exterior metal is in fairly good condition. Looking down the barrel is kinda scary. This barrel has the integral front sight. I've ordered dies which should be here Wed.
My question: If this piece wont keep them on a pie plate at 100 yds, what options do I have? Due to the configuration of the take down barrel, I suppose staying with the original is the best route. Do I rebore? If so, to what caliber? What effect would this have on any collector value?
