It's a rip of the P99. Lay it against a P99 on handgun hero. Exact copy. When you align on finger groves, all differences disappear. https://www.handgunhero.com/compare/walther-p99-as-vs-sarsilmaz-sar-9

Walther's sear housing fell out of copy protection a while ago. I think Canik does a great copy of the Walther. I think the Sar9 flopped a bit. I kinda keep my eyes on the pricing and chatter on the walther copies and this one flashed fast.

This is the beauty of the Walther:

Anybody have one of these? What are your thoughts. Might get one to test out.
I almost bought one last week. $330 out the door. Dealer had a bunch of them. Triggers seemed to range from pure garbage to quite smooth and nice. That is why I didn't buy. If there is that much q.c.neglect in the triggers, wonder how everything else works. Having NATO approval is what first interested me in the pistol. I can be pretty confident they prepped the NATO test pistols better than the ones in my LGS

I picked one up last year for $240 shipped to my FFL. I would describe the SAR9 as a Glock slide on an H&K VP9 frame. Mine came with 2 17-round mags and the 3-dot sights glow in the dark after exposure to light. It's very comfortable to shoot, and mine came with several different backstraps and palm-swells to customize the grip. My SAR9 has been 100% reliable so far.

The only real downside is that extra magazines are pricey (around $40) and can be difficult to find. It probably isn't as well-machined and constructed as a Glock or Walther, but it's much better than a comparably-priced Taurus. The SAR9 is probably the best $300 gun on the market, but you can do better if you're willing to spend $500-$600.
