S&W vs Walther P99 .40 question

Does anyone have the P99 in .40 made by Smith& Wesson? I've read all of stories about the German proof marks and actually I have two 9mm P99's that are all German and they are both excellant! Just curious about the quality of the "non proof mark" Smith & Wesson version. That is all that I see at the gun shops in my area and I was thinking seriously about buying one.

I have a Walther P99 in 40 S&W without the German proofs. It has been perfect! In fact, I liked it so much, I got rid of my Glocks in 40.
