S&W M65 trigger job?

I have a S&W M65 revolver. I don't like the heavy trigger pull. What do I tell the smithy? I want the action smoothed out & the trigger pull reduced to what? The current trigger pull is 12#? The lowest a smithy can go is 8#? How much will this cost?

8lbs for the DA pull should be reliable for street use, but remember that smoothness is more important than pull weight make sure he understands that it is for defense work and not for competition. i think i paid <$75 when i had my j-frame done.

might i suggest that you also have them polish out and round the face of the trigger...more pleasant during fast DA work
