I have one of those; I have never known who ordered them or why, but they shoot very well and disprove the myth that a short barrel is only good for arms' length.

I've always found it a bit amusing,,,

I've always found it a bit amusing,,,
That they normally put target sights on the .22 Model 34,,,
But didn't (except for a few exceptions) put them on the .38 Model 36.

I always guessed that it was because the 36 was considered a carry gun,,,
The makers were afraid the sights would get in the way of a draw.

James K is correct though,,,
If I have anything to brace my hand on,,,
I can usually hit a clay pigeon at 25 yards with my model 34.

A few years ago here a member asked my opinion on a revolver he was picking up pretty cheap for his daughter.

Turned out to be a Chief's Special Target.

Tried my hardest to convince him to sell it to me at a fair price so he could buy his daughter something else...

No dice. :(

I think he ended up keeping it for himself...
