Although I had been looking to find a pre-model 27, I ended up acquiring this GEORGEOUS model 27 "No dash" 4-screw 5" revolver. Inside the box under the gun is a "Handling the Handgun" pamphlet and a waranty card(Not pictured). The serial number is 1990xx. For being 52 years old this revolver has not been fired much-but, the turn line was mostly from fondling the gun. It is amazing how much nicer the older bluing is compared to the late 1970's 27-2's. See what you might think of this M27 "No dash"?:

Very nice!
Its funny to me that some guns of the same model just don't have that polished look from the factory. They seem to vary in finish from black to almost nickel look. I find it harder to locate the very rich polished blue ones like yours.

Model 27's are my favorite N frames, have 3 so far. Don't have a 5" but am coveting that one, good score. Every one I have has great triggers. The best of the bunch is a 4" 27-3 where the trigger and hammer have been jeweled and I am assuming a trigger job was done by someone whe knew what they were doing.

Model 27's are my favorite N frames also. Your 4" 27-3 looks mint! Right now, I only have two 5" Model 27's. Following is my other one- a 27-2 with a nickel finish(NIB):
