S&W 625-10: what do you think?

Always wanted a .45acp snubbed revolver. Found a NIB 625-10 in a local gunshopmaked at $975. I've dealt with him before and am sure he'd come down to $900 for a cash deal.

Good buy at that price? Seems many online are selling for well over $1000.

Thanks. :)

I've shot one of those some years ago. The owner bought it new - it was in the used case three weeks later. Short 2.1" barrel makes for zilch sight radius - and flash with just ball ammo. The fixed V-notch is ambiguous. I never knew a .45 ACP ball ammo shot could be so 'bouncy'. The alloy frame - and yoke - even with a SS barrel & cylinder - weighs very little - 24 oz. The Eagle wood grip looks nice - doesn't help with the recoil, of course. The only use is as a carry piece - and that for hand-shaking distance. The 325NG looks like a better thought out answer.

I'm confused. The OP asked about a 625 which is an all stainless model last time I looked. Why are we now talking about alloy yokes and frames?
