HI. I'm a new member and have couple questions. The 439 I have was given to me about 20 years ago when my uncle passed away. It has had very little use until recently. I am now getting back into shooting as well as reloading. I don't like the feel of the trigger on this gun. It has way too much creep for me. Is there anything that I can do or have done. I also have been looking for info at different forums and I have not seen any posts about this model. I know it has to be at least 20 yrs old; but is this a good reliable model Smith?

A 439 was my issued duty gun for a while in 1982-83. I never warmed to the trigger in mine. My previous duty gun was a 39 that had been tuned and was slick as snot. I never got use to going from that 39 trigger to the stock 439. In 1983 we were authorized to carry a 459 if we purchased it. My 459 was already tuned and had a trigger close to my old 39. So the 439 went back to the dept.
Install a complete set of Wolff springs. That will help.
