Many people have be critical about Ruger's recent statement. Before everyone jumps all over Ruger consider this. His company is being sued fby what 26 cities for severl billion dollars. If any one of these law suits wins there is a good chance that Ruger (not to mention many other gun manufactures) will go under. ruger is battling to save the life of his cpmany and may have to make some poor decisions and loose some battles now to win the overall war. What would any of you do when something that you've built from the ground up and successfully run for 50 years is about to be destroyed.
Ruger is at least accountable to his share holders, RGR tradeon the New York stock exchange. As a stock hold you can voice your opinion. Many other firms are own by another company (S&W,Sig, etc)and can change policies or even be shut down to cut losses. Especially since ruger is the largest seller of civillian firearms. The ruer has financial troubles, amny other firms may consider getting out the civillian gun sales. H&K may be bought buy Colt and they are finished. Glock is a private company and gun stop civillian sales at any time since most of their sales are for LE.
Go to sight where you can get stock quotes and pull up the news on RGR (ruger's stock symbol). Many of these stories will show that ruger's lawyers are at the fore front of fighting the anti's. They are always contering the statements made by the anti cities. I have yet to see Glock or sig make any public comments.
Finally, the mag capacity limit. Ruger did not create or lobby congress for the limit. The eople creating the law contact him for his opinion, and he suggested a 15 round limit. They decided on 10. They would have placed this limit no matter what he said. ruger would be blamed no matter what he did dince you are all looking for someone to blame. If he said nothing, he would have been blamed for not taking a stand at all. If he siad a higher # for a limit, he'd have beeen blaming for making a foolishly high suggestion. again, the limit would have gone through no matter what Ruger did then.
If you discount Ruger firearms completely you will do more damage than any anti could ever hope to accomplish. Ruger is the only major American owned gun manufacter. It has the largest percentage of civilian sales than any other gun manufacter If Ruger goes out of business, then the war is over.
