Ruger Service Six

There is a small machine screw that I believe might be part of the pivot for the cylinder release on the left side of my Service Six. I found it backed out about 3/16". I have screwed it back down tight but I wonder if I should either remove it or at least back it out and apply some Locktite to it. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanx, Steve B

I think he means the KE-27, "crane latch pivot". Snug it in. Mine hasn't moved in 30 years or so.

Just snug it in. If you do use Locktite make sure it is the blue not red.

Mine (on two Rugers) has never moved. I have had it out for cleaning, but it always stays tight.

"crane latch pivot".

Oh, I think of that as a bottom view thingy, not left side. Anyway, I've never seen one come loose.
