Ruger MKII Target Slabside SS 5.5"....what's it worth?

I have one in 98% condition minus factory rings that just sits in the safe. Thinking about trading for something I might shoot. So what's a good trade/sell value on these?

I sold mine for $400 a couple years ago. It went quick with no haggle. I had the rings though. I bought something else too. I had added a MKIII 22/45 to my collection and didn't need two single action 22s in my handgun battery. FWIW a new MKIII Competition Target retails for a little over $500. And the slabside has a 6.875" barrel, not a 5.5".

I've observed 22LR firearms are going for less due to the unavailability of ammo.

Maybe I should trade my extra .22 ammo for the gun. lol. I hard to find those .22lr bricks these days.

Awhile back, I traded some Winchester .22s (six 333s and six 555s) for a Ruger GP100 and a Galco holster (I had $150 in the ammo, and it shot horribly in my guns).

I'll give 5 bricks of bulk .22 for it. ;)

(I stocked up on .22, back in the Round one of the Great 0bama Ammo Famine when that was all you could get.)

First of all, apologies to the OP because it seems that what I meant as a joke was taken seriously by some here.

Now on your question, you can find them around me from $350 to $475 when you can find them used which is not often for the Slabside. You find a lot of the 22/45's but MKII Hunters most people keep.

I hope you noticed that I was joking right?

I think he was responding not to your post, but to 9x19's response to your post.

And my reaction is the same. That's a hell of a trade! I wish I had squirreled away a few dozen bricks of .22 LR back before the panic.

Good mark II's are harder and harder to find, and there is no such thing as a good mark III. I would say anywhere from 400 up to 15% less than whatever the street price of the current Mk III iteration of that is.

No joke. It may not be a quick sale but you will get it for a 98% gun sooner or latter.

I have paid current MSRP or close to it for virgin no-lock S&W revolvers and have been GLAD I did.

In my area, I've observed this with garden-variety semi-auto rifles and inexpensive combat-pistol lookalikes; however, quality used .22 target pistols still seem to be selling quickly at relatively high prices, despite the ongoing ammo situation.
