Ruger Bisley sights

I have a Ruger Bisley, .45 Colt with 6" barrel. The revolver shoots as nice as can be. My problem is that I cannot clearly see the sights. The notch at the back is small and the front sight is narrow. Not a good combination for 65 year old eyes. I've tried the white paint route & it does not last. Then the orange flourescent, it doesn't last.
Any suggestions that will not break the bank & hopefully without modifying the revolver.

(I also posted this in the revolver section of THR forum)

TIA

Is your target in focus but not the sights? Some people have found that generic reading glasses help to bring the front sight into focus although the target will be slightly blurred. I have found a few optometrists that were willing to help by having a pair of glasses made up where the bifocal area is extended further up into the lens so that you can see the front sight crisply without having to tilt your head way back. Then by tilting your head down slightly you can see distant objects. Talk to your eye doctor.
