Rock Island Armory MAPP 9mm

I've been looking at getting one of these and was wondering if anyone else here on TFL has any experience with it. It's apparently based on the Witness/CZ line. Centerfire has them for $349. If they shoot well it looks like a pretty good deal. I haven't had a single malfunction from any of my RIA 1911's, based on that it seems like it may be worth taking a chance.

They also have it in plastic, if that's your thing:

I spoke with a gentleman down at Knob Creek Range one day who had two of the Rock Island pistols from Centerfire.

He loved them both and swore by them. This man knew his guns too. Said they were worth every penny.

I haven't heard any complaints about them, but I would probably go for the tanfoglio (witness) as they can be had for about the same price, and get one in "wonderfinish" as it is very corrosion resistant. I purchased a witness compact in .45 last christmas for my girlfriend and it still looks brand new after 1500+ rounds and being carried in her purse/backpack rig for the last 6 months or so. I don't know what that wonderfinish is but it is good stuff.

I have one of the MAP1MS (all steel) from CenterFireSystems. Drove down to pick one up last year. If you want a 9mm that shoots everytime with tight groups, at a terrific price, but one! Shoots as good or better than my SA or M&P. If it weren't for the weight I'd be using this as my carry everyday.
