Rifle vs Carbine buffer tube length 308

I know Aero precision makes a carbine length buffer tube kit (receiver extension, buffer weight, buffer spring... hopefully a castle nut) for their M5 / 308. But is there any advantage to getting a rifle length buffer tube kit rather than an adjustable carbine length buffer tube / spring?

Is the impulse of recoil spread out over longer distance?

No difference that I have noticed. Ultimately, the buffer / BCG still travels the same distance between the carbine and rifle length setups. The 2 different lengths use different length buffers.

The only difference ( in my setups, so YMMV ) is the Tubbs 308 Flatwire recoil spring I prefer is compressed slightly more in the DPMS and Armalite pattern carbine buffer tubes then a rifle length buffer tube .

Your Adj. GB choice made far more difference to me in perceived recoil reduction.
