Is there any way that I can make a new rifle wood stock look aged? I don't want to sand the finish. This is on a new Winchester 94. I don't like the glossey shiney finish look. Thanks.
The easiest way is probably to get a good Urethane stripper (like Sherwin Williams), strip off the glossy finish and rub in a few coats of Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil. It gives a beautiful matte finish.
