Revolver grip materials... what do you like ???

I'd have to say, that on "most" revolvers I prefer some sort of wood, though I have a couple boomers that are not CCW guns, that I prefer soft rubber...

as far as wood... I have several that are laminated wood, but I'm in the process of dolling up a few, & just bought 3 pieces of very highly figured claro walnut, that a guy is going to make me several custom grips...

I'm wondering about some spalted maple on a couple darker guns... I had a couple pieces of spalted maple made for the fore end & grip inserts on my older black stocked Ruger 77, & I really like the looks...

both of these groups of wood are bowl turning blanks, so they are thick enough, to split them in two, so the grips can in effect be book matched

these are a couple I've bought so far... ( hope I like this guys work... a forum member on another forum )

I have a big spaulded maple log I'm waiting on to dry to do some woodwork with, I never though about it but, it would look killer on a stainless gun. I think I might sneak dads Dan Wesson .357 kit out of the closet and make some nice grips for his birthday. Thanks for the idea.
I'm sure yours will turn out great, post some pictures when you get them back!
