Reversed Primers

Just got my XL-650, which I love, and have recent started production.

Ran through my first 200 rounds and have two round that have the primer seated backwards.

So, I've mole whacked the bullet out, emptied the powder and have the case and reversed primer taking a bath in WD-40.

Will this effectively make these primers inert? I'd like to make sure they're dead before trying to punch them out with my new press...

Nothing much deadens primers. They are remarkably resistant to solvents.

A better approach would have been to put on ear and eye protection and gloves and just push them out with your sizing die (don't forget to lube the case) or else with a universal decapping die. Pushed gently, you might well have been able to use them again. If they go off they'll just vent down the primer drop path. No harm done.

Flipping seems to happen to the primers at the top of the tube in the Dillons. The fiberglass rod just isn't quite heavy enough to chase them as they fall. I've taken to putting a weight on mine. Drill the bottom of a bullet out to sit on it.
