The Official Word is that rifle cases for autos, pumps, and levers shoud be full-length sized, while for bolts you can neck size if desired. Measuring my .30-'06 brass with a gauge, I find that fired cases still fall within spec both in my 03A3 and my M1, whether military or commercial brass. What gives? Looks as if I can neck size for my M1 and save brass life. I use a Wilson case gauge, and of course check length also.
