Remove Ruger M77 Extractor?

How?

I have a new extractor I need to install in a Ruger M77. I understand I need to squeeze the extractor retaining ring somehow in order to loosen its grip on the extractor, but there must be a technique I'm missing.

DnPRK,

Thank you, that worked fine. I appreciate it.

For those who search for this info, with or without the pics provided, the "trick" is to rotate the extractor clockwise (looking from the rear) as far as it will go, then lift the extractor "hook" by pressing down an inch or so back along the extractor - press down the middle and the hook elevates. With the hook elevated, continue rotating the extractor clockwise, out of the slot near the bolt head. Then slide the extractor forward, free of the retaining clip around the bolt body. Reassemble in reverse, except the circular clip will need to be compressed slightly to allow the extractor slot to slide over the clip lugs.
