Remington pump 223

At a LGS, I ran across something I'd not seen before, a Remington pump rifle in 223. It had a 4-digit model number something like 7516 (may well be mis-remembering that!). Lightweight, obviously something fairly newish, had a kinda cheesy black plastic ejection port cover that the pump action worked. Anyone heard of these or could point me to any info on them?

Sure,it's the 7615 pump.Uses AR mags as I recall.Priced close to entry-level AR15's though,so no big rush to buy them.Supposed to be accurate.

The 7615 was built on the 870 platform (or was at least closely related to it). The idea was to give a .223 rifle that used the same manual of arms as the 870 (to simplify training), yet would also be reliable and worthwhile in a tactical situation.

As said, it also wasn't that far removed from an AR-15 in price, so the market never really materialized. They're out there, but it may take some looking to find one.
