remington 7400 takedown instructions

Any chance anyone still has a copy of the takedown instructions? (yeah, I know, I'm 3 yrs late. I'm always a little slow)

I have a 7400 that looks to have a broken ejection port cover, and I cannot see how to take it apart....

Thanks,

Keith

Barrel nut

I'm down to the step in which I remove the barrel nut, but I cannot get it to budge. It is loctite'd, or held with a pin, or is it just that tight?

Has anyone gotten one off?

Clamp the action in the vise, being careful not to collapse it, and give the wrench a slap with the palm of the hand to break it free.

Ejection port cover...

Actually, it turns out you can replace the ejection port cover WITHOUT removing the bolt; the plastic part will slip in place.

After trying the nut a few times, I decided I really don't want to take it off, and I *really* don't want to try to torque it back on...
