Rem 700 Firing Pin Assembly Replacement

I am replacing this assembly to get rid of the ISS which gets on my nerves right or wrong.It looks like the factory threads had something the consistency of anti-seize compound on them.Is this a good idea or am I just looking at some crud?

It's probably anti-sieze. Good idea to apply it to the new one (or at least some heavy lithium grease).
