I was wondering if there is a diffrence between reloads and remanufactured ammo. I have a gun shop here in Miami thats can get me a case of 1000 230 gr .45 hardball for $160, 1000 rounds of gold dot for $275, and 1000 rounds of 185gr Match grade BHP for $550 the gold dot and BHP are Factory loads and the hardball is remanufactured. My concern is for the hardball since buying boxes of 50 at $13-$15 a box really puts a hole in my pocket. Is there a diffrence between reloads and remanufactured. and are these good prices. :D Thank in advance.

Not much.

Ammunition sold as "remanufactured" may just be commercial reloads turned out in quantity on a Dillon 1000 or something even bigger like a Camdex or Ammoload machine.
It MIGHT have been given some extra attention, most usually roll sizing the brass down to correct diameter all the way to the rim.

Does this stuff have a brand name?
Is it loaded by somebody with a FFL, experience, and liability insurance?
If so, it is reasonable to consider.

Are the "factory" loads from the same source?
If so, they are probably just loaded on the same machines with new instead of used brass.

I don't know about the price, I load my own.

I bought 1,000 rounds of remanufactured .45 ACP at a gun show. Stuff shoots OK and I haven't had any problems with it. The price you quoted was about $10 more than I paid for my ammo, and I bought it about three years ago. If it meets the criteria that Jim stated, then it should be OK. One thing, it does give you a goodly supply of brass to reload. Once you start doing that, then you're hooked. :D
