Reloading frangible bullets

My wife and I are going to start shooting at steel targets and frangible bullets seem to be the safest way to do it. Are there any tricks to reloading them? Are they as accurate as regular handgun bullets from 10 to 25 yards? What is a good source for them?

I loaded 2-3K frangibles w/o any issues. Just used the medium load data for the weight. You need to use care in crimping as some frangibles may tend to be brittle causing them to break off at the crimp(not usually seen with taper crimps).
FWIW
I've had good results using plated bullets on steel. They tend to "moosh" or "washer" rather than rebound as lead or jacketed bullets may do.

I used to shoot Fiocchi 9mm frangible ammo in my Glock 17L, the most accurate load in that gun. But I never got the same results with handloading them. My Handloads went about 4" at best at 25 yards, the Fiocchis were under 2".

Almost forgot, no crimp with these unless they give you a groove or you're crimping on the nose. You can crack the bullets if you over crimp. Just set the die to remove the flare.

eta, IIRC, fast powders (for the caliber) work best because they're so light, also you need to use load data for the next heavier bullet, so you would use 9mm 124 FMJ data if you're shooting 9mm 100 grain frangible bullets.
