not true about google. i have found that search engines only want to sell you stuff not give you information. type in savage model 1899 and see what comes up. there are a few historical sites but the first one is trying to sell you a book about it. also the reference sites dont have pics and do not tell you how to date them.
heres one for finding year of manufacture for winchester remington ruger and so on..
But if you figure that most folks will refer to them as a Savage Model 99 you get a little different list. Or maybe try quote marks around the search terms. I spend way too much time fooling with this stuff. Or maybe search for Savage and then within the results for the Model number.
Anybody remember when the library had a card catalog for finding stuff?
I don't have trouble looking up individual items. I am looking for sites that catalog firearms, with pictures and information. Sort of like a good general reference book.
