Alliant does not list any loads for lead bullets below 200gr, and no jacketed bullets below 230gr. They may feel that it is too fast for lawyer safe loading.

The current Speer manual (#14) shows 4.5 gr starting, 4.9 gr maximum with their 185 gr TMJ SWC. I know that's not the same bullet, but I think it would be OK with your hard cast lead.

I've used 6.0gr of Red Dot with 185gr Golden Sabers safely and accurately with my SA 1911-A1.

My Lyman's 47th ed shows 4.0 to 5.5gr with a 185gr lead bullet and my Lee says 4.8gr with a 180gr lead bullet.

I would think around 5.0 with a lead bullet should work ok for you.
