Red dot

I am interested in getting a red dot sight or one of ATN digital style sights. I have a remington 700 30-06 I could put it on, but I also have a ruger 10/22, norinco sks, and a remington 870 with a cantalever scome mount. Wat do you think?

A red dot "scope" is not really suited for your .30-06 .That would be like putting mud tires on a Corvette.Most red dots offer no magnification and are intended for fast close range target acquisition.A red dot would be ideal on your 870 or 10/22.Check out the Bushnell Trophy red dots.Multiple reticles (small dot,large dot.crosshair,or dot in circle) and 11 brightness settings.Less than $ 100.00 ,I have a couple and like them.

CAUTION Not all brands of red dot type of sights are weather proof.

A Red Dot would be dandy on an SKS. I have one on a Marlin 336CS in 35 Rem and it's deadly out to about 150 yards - all that's needed for that gun. Your 30-06 deserves really good glass. sundog

I put a red dot on my Rem 870, 12ga., and my Mini 30. They are only used for dense woods hunting. My long rifles all have scopes for distance.
