Red Dot Sight

If a red dot sight has only a red dot and no reticle, how would you aim it. Do you use the front sight? With just a dot, do you try to put the dot and the target in the center? That does not sound too cool. So how does it work?

Ok, so thats not true. In use just put the dot where you want the bullet to impact. The dot does not have to be in the center of the tube and you dont hsve to use the front sight at all

Zero it just like any scope and enjoy.

Red dot sights use a system of curved reflective surfaces so that the dot is remains pointed at the same thing regardless of the position of your eye behind it. If you get a red dot and set it on a table, regardless of where you look through it, the dot will remain on whatever it's pointed it. It's neat to watch. I think of it a bit like those paintings where the eyes seem to always be looking at you. It's pretty cool technology, but it's also tricky to get right. Some inexpensive red dots don't work so well if the dot isn't pretty much in the center of the tube, also there's parallax to consider.
