rear sight loose on colt mustang

So I have this new to me colt mustang plus II (blued finish) and after running about 200 rounds over many months the rear sight is loose in the dovetail. I've been reading the forums and two possible solutions have come up.

I can use the blue removable strength locktight. (semi-permanent)

I can try and "peen" the bottom of the sight to give some friction. (adjustable yet dinged up )

What are your suggestions? Alternatives?

The most permanent is to do both.

First, figure out were the sight needs to be to have the gun on target.
Mark the slide and sight with a very sharp pencil to give a reference or "witness" mark so you can get things back in the same place.

Remove the sight.
Use a center punch to make a line of punch marks on the underside of the SIGHT.
(Always work on the part that's easiest/cheapest to replace if something goes wrong.)
The idea here is not to make punch marks, the idea is to raise small craters around the punch marks.
This has the effect of tightening the sight in the slide.

Then degrease the sight and slide dovetail and apply a drop of Loctite Red in the dovetail.
Tap the sight in place, and allow to cure 24 hours.

I peened the rear sight.

I went ahead and peened the bottom of the rear sight 10 times or so. I reinstalled and it was a snug fit. I had to use a piece of wood to drift the sight back into the dovetail. No locktite was needed. Problem solved.
