Played hookey from work today and drove 2 hrs to get in some range time. Took my 5R/.308 and managed to shoot a couple of really good 5 shot groups at 100 yards. The best measured 0.484 inches. Far and away the best group I've ever shot at any distance. I used 42.1/IMR 4064, CCI Br2 primer, 175gr SMK, Winchester case. C.O.A.L measured 2.800.

Also shot a 5 shot group with my daughters Savage model 12 that measured 0.717 inches. I wanted to shoot 200-400 yards but physically wasn't up to walking back and forth to the targets. The new Bushnell 10x40 mil dot scope atop the .22-250 work out just fine. Got a lot accomplished in less than 2 hours.

Glade to hear your had a great time.I too own a 5R in a 308 and love shooting it.The 175gn SMK works really well in mine to,but I use Varget @ 42gn.Your 4064 load seems to be working for ya so I say run it.One thing about a 5R is that there is already a lot of good info to work with.( hint the work has already been done for ya ) all you have to do is to just tweek what someone has already done

Keep at it and have fun
