Got out to the range again - this time with my Pietta Smith Carbine. It's been almost a year since I shot this gun. As usual, she shot just fine.

The first target was shot standing up, freehand at 25 yards.

The second target was shot seated at 50 yards.

I used plastic shells filled with 30 grains of Goex 2F with a lubed .515 Smith bullet.

I see your rifle shoots pretty good Sir. (Offhand and bench rest.) Could you post a picture of one of its shells please. Would like to see what a plastic cartridge looks like for this rifle. Thank you, for your time and effort to post these pixs.

.

The Smith I had used rubber cases (tubes, actually).

The first Smith I ever fired was an original Civil War gun. the owner made his own cases with several wraps of heavy aluminum foil with a heavy card base that he punched out of some really thick stock that he got.

He could usually get 2 to 3 shots out of one before it crapped out, so obviously he didn't shoot it much.

Shells

Will post pics of plastic shells and bullets i use. The plastic shells are pretty hardy and so far have lasted through 4 or 5 uses with no problems. I get the from S&S Firearms in NY.
