I purchased a new Kimber Ultra CDP on Monday. On Tuesday morning I had an appointment with my firearms instructor to qualify for CC. The first time I fired the CDP was on the firing line at qualification.
The Kimber Ultra CDP has an internal extractor. I use the factory mag. and a Wilson Combat mag. I shot 150 rounds 230gr TMJ. Not a single problem. The piece fired every time I pulled the trigger. Accuracy was outstanding. I replaced the rosewood grips with Hogue before my qualification. I think this pistol will be a great carry.
My wife "homesteaded" my Pro Eclipse (external extractor) which I purchased last Thursday. We have had 3 FTE during the first 500 rounds all 3 were on the same Wilson mag., 2 in the #3 position 1 in the #4 position.
We both qualified yesterday with both pistols. I am thrilled with Both Kimbers. The Eclipse was our first 1911. We both officially have the "1911 bug".
