QUICKLOAD anomaly (question mark)

One of the great values of QL is finding candidate load combinations that fit parameters you specify: pressure, speed, fill-ratio, total burn % (etc). From there you pick options to try as "probable" best.

Ran into an issue yesterday where I wanted a 1,100 fps/light-recoil LEGEND and so set that speed into the Propellant Table setup and hit "go"

Got a lot of these:
QL-Shot-Pressure.jpg

"...cannot find match... try to lower shot start pressure..."

Now I can lower shot start to "zero" and the same error appears in the table.

Any thoughts?

postscript: I can put any of these powders into the regular load entry screen, and get perfectly acceptable results. But not in a Propellant Table search.

'Tis a puzzlement.

You may have seen this somewhere else ;) , but in the Propellant Table Setup box, does your minimum/maximum Ba range possibly exclude those powders?

I've got the Ba window wide open MIN <--> MAX
Also, have the Case-Fill Min's wide open past a Red Dot/1,100fps load as well/

QL-Shot-Pressure-Settings.jpg

(NOTE: 5.0 gr Red Dot is 31% case fill/exactly 1,100fps)

NOTE also that if I ask for 1,255fps, everything's hunky-dory for Red Dot.
1,254fps ? Error, error error.....
Weird.

I ran your settings through my QL V.3.8 and got the following results for the powders you listed.

Alliant RED DOT 30.0 0.9 0.06 361 75.5 4272 738 1.369
Alliant GREEN DOT 30.0 1.0 0.06 331 65.2 3461 713 1.621
Alliant BLUE DOT 30.0 1.4 0.09 269 24.7 2928 373 1.594
Alliant HERCO 30.0 1.1 0.07 263 38.9 3429 494 1.786
Alliant Reloder-10x 30.0 1.6 0.11 246 12.3 2346 159 1.902
Alliant Reloder-15 30.0 1.7 0.11 234 9.9 2298 134 1.971
Alliant Reloder 11 isn't in my version's data base.

Any chance that your settings for components are askew? I used 124gr JHP, 1.08" COL, max case capacity 12.76gr H2O, 4" barrel.

He is referring to the 350 Legend, a rifle cartridge developed for use in states that only allow straight wall cartridges for firearm season.

Mehavey,

I'd need your bullet choice to try to duplicate your results.
