Question on RCBS De Capping Die

Hi all. I like the idea of a dedicated de capping station so I got one for .22-.25 for .223. I also need to de cap a bunch of .30 cal. I saw the other day that RCBS makes caliber specific de capping pins that are sold separately from the die.

Is there another die with a range for +- .30 cal that I need to get or are these pins interchangeable? I am assuming they are interchangeable only within the parameters of the dies range? That .30 pin won't work on the .22-.25 I am guessing. Thanks

The smaller one will work fine. They do make a heavy duty version. I believe the rod is thicker, bit the pin itself should be the same.

There are two standard flash hole sizes: 0.059" (least common) and 0.079" (most common). Decapping pins for the two are available from several makers. A universal decapping die and the smaller pin may do everything you want without having to swap anything out.

A Lee Universal Decapping Die is the greatest $10 I ever spent.

I come in from range, decap everything, just changing shell holder. Throw it all in to vibratory cleaner.
