Question about leather options.

I'm looking at maybe purchasing a Veeder Comfort Tuck holster witch comes with a leather backing which rides against the body. Standard leather is cowhide leather, but for an additional $15 I can get the horsehide leather. What advantage is there to horsehide leather and is it worth the additional $15?

Stole this fair and square from a leather maker/retailer's site.
"Horsehide has a coarser grain, huge differences in weight(that's the thickness) (even across the same hide, and generally is lighter/thinner), is more abrasion resistant, has a different fiber structure, and displays much more variation and natural markings." Italics are mine.
