Quality of reloads

Greetings,

At the gunshows I see consistently see two booths selling "factory reloaded" ammo. One is Wild West Ammunition and the other is "Wholesale AMMO" (although it says Miwall Corporation on the white and black boxes). My questions are: 1)Does anyone know of the quality of these reloads? 2) The velocities are usually posted. For those that have chrono'ed, do these rounds perform as advertised?

I'm interested in 9's, 40's, and 45's, as they are $5.50, $6.00, and $8.75 per box of 50, respectively. Thanks.

You want to avoid the basement reloader. If you get hurt you are out of luck or even if you get a gun damaged. Make SURE the source is licensed to sell remanufactured ammunition AND has liability insurance. If they try to dodge the question pass it up.
Also ask what they use to reload it. If they are using automated newer machines it is as good as factory which is iffy at times we find. Buy one box and if you like it buy more next time and argue price if you can afford to buy in quantity.

I've purchased thousands of rounds of .40, a bunch of .223, some 9mm and .380 from "Wholesale Ammo" aka Miwall Corp. Good stuff, never a squib or noticeably hotter round. Their quality control seems to be excellent. The guys are knowledgable and will tell you what powders are used as well as what machinery they use. I recommend them.

I don't know a thing about Wild West.

I am happy with their ammo(.45, 9mm, 38, 357, 223). Have not had any jams, when using high quality weapons, my surplus guns will jam but rare(maybe once or twice in a shooting session). They are worth it. They burn clean, and are relatively accurate for plinking. The loads are consistent too(pretty mild). No surprises at all. Since discovering Millwall, I don't reload 9mm anymore. I also buy my reloading components from them. I don't shoot competition so I don't pay $40 for name brand swc45s bullets when I can get their brand for $19.
